It bothers me more to have to take an innocent animals life than a wicked persons life who has zero consideration for my life.
Logically I agree with you.
But emotionally I doubt that it would be that easy.
If I ever have to take another human life I have no doubt that I will dwell on that moment for the rest of my life. I would wish to my dying day that it had not happened.
I would know logically that that person left me no choice; it was him or me.
But emotionally I would puzzle on and on that if I had shot lower or higher or one less round he might have made it to the hospital and survived.
Most of we humans can not help but carry quilt over the taking of another human life regardless of our logical reasons for doing so.
I am truly sorry that this woman will carry this burden for the rest of her life. I also grieve that her children witnessed their mother killing a man. I can only imagine how that will impact their lives.
That man is truly evil for what he has done to this woman and her family in forcing her to kill him.
It would bother me but not for long.
I can sit and think about all the other people I saved from his or her violence and possible murders, thefts, damage, and such. I can sit and think about how this place is better off without such a person inflicting themselves on others for the rest of their lives, demanding we take care of them if we incarcerate them and they get sick and old.
If its a person who doesnt value other peoples lives I will not be bothered by these people ceasing to exist. I am not bothered by it when they go now without my involvement. I am grageful the world is a little bit safer with them gone.
