DHS Prepares Plan to End Work Permits for Foreign H-1B Spouses

Officials at the Department of Homeland have drafted plans to end former President Barack Obama’s policy of awarding an extra work-visa to many H-1B guest workers. The policy has delivered at least 78,000 extra H-4 work-permits to the spouses of foreign H-1B guest workers. Many of the spouses are white-collar graduates who compete for the jobs also sought by young American graduates.

A regulation to end the H-4 giveaway is “on the table” an agency official told Breitbart News. If published in the federal register, it will be enforced after 60 days but likely will be tangled up in business-funded lawsuits.

But the move — if implemented amid business hostility — would impact less than 10 percent of the roughly 1 million resident white-collar guest-workers.

Call it a good first step toward reasonable, common-sense immigration control.

I’m sure at least 10 are lined up to do just that.

Fair’s fair. When I was working in Europe on a (difficult to obtain and requiring that I possessed qualifications a European wouldn’t) work permit, and despite her skills as an IT professional, there was no way in Hell we could have obtained one for my wife. Protecting their own subjects and citizens is a first priority for every national government but ours.

The rulings are already written. The clerks will be told to substitute “{plaintiff here}” for the actual names of the plaintiffs.

Why wait? Write them now and then take the week off when the actual case is heard.

So it would affect 100,000 "guest workers." If have of them have a working spouse, then that frees up 50,000 more jobs for AMERICANS! That isn't trivial.

I’ll bet that idiot judge from HI who blocked Trump’s muslim country ban will chime in on this. He did it twice already, as I understand it...

#2: "BUILD A CAREER BACK HOME! "

These people do not seem interested in helping their homelands.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if they went back home and enriched their rich ethnic cultures with their education, training, and "expertise". After a period of time they would have a nice life for themselves, their kin, and countryman.

But hey, what's important to them is to exploit Americans for suckers, and get the $1000 iPhones, $200 sport shoes, 70 inch TVs, gold chains, and bling.

Excellent. Legal, a quick win, and gives them an immediate reason NOT to keep the spouse here - or bring them here if they already have permission to emigrate.

Americans throw each other under the bus for pennies on the dollar. It's embarrassing. When did we become a nation of cutthroats?

In the early 80s, when my husband was working in England, it specifically was noted on my visa. that I could not work in England.
