My apologies if I’ve offended your personal beliefs; but things DO have to make ‘sense’ to me.
I think that God gave me a brain and attendant mentality for a reason, just as he gave me another sense through which I believe in Him regardless of man’s current materialistically-bent science.

If things have to make sense to you in order for them to be true, then logically you must be on equal footing with God when it comes to knowledge.
Likewise, if the only things which are true must be understandable by men, then God is a man.
God gave us the ability to reason so that we could “test all things” as He commanded.
He makes it very clear in His Word that the flesh of man and of birds and of animals is “different” flesh.
