I watched the first forty minutes, enjoying his speaking style. He didn’t seem to be going anywhere, so I fast forwarded an hour. Heh. It was like I had never fast forwarded at all, as he was saying the same thing with the same words from an hour ago. After watching a little more, I realized he wasn’t going to get into anything of interest and that this lecture was preamble.
So I went to the Part II of the series and watched for ten minutes until my eyes glazed over.
The OP mentions ‘Origin of Consciousness..” which is one of my favorite books ever. Maybe I was expecting some original thinking like was in the Origin book, and this fellow was not measuring up. He admits he is operating at the edge of his cognizance without ‘making it up as I go along,’ but tells us he’s learning as he goes. Maybe when he figures out what he thinks he’s learned, he can chop his lectures down into confident, sure-footed expositions that require a whole lot fewer words, qualifications and repetition. That would be good.
