Miami-Dade Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho is speaking out against the Trump administration's decision to end temporary protected status for Haitians, saying it will negatively affect thousands of students in his schools.
Nearly 12,000 children and another 5,700 adults enrolled in the school system are impacted....
"A nation that chooses to embark on the destruction of community, yanking children from their parents, forcing some to return to conditions not appropriate for their existence, is a nation that has lost its moral compass," Carvalho said....

So today he stood with Frederica Wilson and blasted Trump for FOLLOWING the law. 12,000 students probably account for a whole lot of MONEY from the federal government for the school district.
There is a rumor he will run for Ileana Ros-Lehtinen’s seat...Ileana is a RINO.
Would these people have been here this long, it was never supposed to be permanent, if the thieves at the head of the clinton foundation actually spent the money where they were supposed to instead of pocketing it?
You hit the nail on the head...it’s all about the federal funds the school district is getting, and the thousands of future Democrat voters they would be losing.
What about the word temporary as in Haiti temporary protected status does he not understand?
The nitwit administrator needs to give the ICE a list of these people. They can arrest them, seize their assets and deport them this afternoon. Get out of America!
What part of “temporary” does he not understand?
Exactly. The school system doesn’t care about the children, just the funding they get for the children.
Nearly 12,000 children and another 5,700 adults enrolled in the school system are impacted....
How many on welfare?
Florida spends apps $7000 per students. That is a lot of money to lose
No worries Mr. Superintendent. They will be replaced very soon with Puerto Ricans from the hurricane.
We don’t improve anything by bringing refugees from war and disasters here.
So there are 12,000 Haitians going to school in Miami-Dade.
How does that improve Haiti?
And if we educate these people and they stay her to live how does that help Haiti?
And if conditions in Haiti are still “not appropriate for their existence” 7 years after the disaster what was done with all of the money the US sent there to rebuild?
And what about the other 11 million people there?
We can’t take in every 3d world illiterate just because their own countries are an unlivable mess.
Leftest are never happy.
Does he want the entire USA to turn into Haiti?
That is exactly what would happen if we took in the entire worlds poverty, which is what liberals want except they don’t want to live next door to them. Hypocrites!
‘Nothing lasts longer than a temporary government program.’
- President Ronald Reagan
Bingo! All the extra "Free Money" to hire translators and ESL teachers. The hell with the U.S. kids who get screwed in the process!
By the time they’re all added up, Miami-Dade has 100k illegals living off the US citizens.
Some day, when people like Carvahlo and other libs make an argument on the merits and in accordance with the law, rather than the typical old “women and children” hurt the worst, then and only then might I consider what they have to say.
