GOP lawmaker: Trump a 'factor' in why I'm not seeking reelection (Dave Trott Mich)
The Hill ^ | November 20, 2017

Posted on 11/20/2017 3:50:04 PM PST by SMGFan

When asked during an interview with CNBC why he isn't running again, Trott said "it's not the right time" for him to be in Washington. "We're not that productive," he said.

"And that certainly isn't just a consequence of President Trump. They weren't that productive before he ever got there, but it's just not the right time for me to be serving." Trott was pressed on whether Trump is also "part of the issue." "It's a factor," he said.

No politician I know does not seek re-election, unless he has a greater opportunity or he can’t win.

“unless he has a greater opportunity or he can’t win.”

Or there are some nasty skeletons rattling around his closet.

I surrender to Democrats
It’s too hard to fight for a future worth having
So what if they bow before the Muslim Brotherhood
Celebrate killing babies and cow-tow to Poofters
It’s not the time to fight, not a time to fight
I’ll surrender all....

There is another possibility.

We all understand that the establishment actors are being blackmailed by the Soros type crowd, most likely by way of sexual compromise.

What if Trump’s draining of the swamp means to remove the leverage that Soros and other bad actors hold on them. Maybe he has let them all know that the compromising information will be released unless they retire, permanently.

I could see Congressmen/Senators choosing to leave the swamp voluntarily. Others, will have to be exposed. If they survive the exposure, it is still good for the system, as that leverage is no longer viable in the future as a means of extortion.

Just a thought on why all the talk of sex in DC of late. I think the Hollywood exposures is a way the swamp hopes to survive the release of their own compromises, but hoping that the public, overwhelmed by scandal, chooses to ignore it.

He's is my rep so to speak, here is the history.

* It was Thaddeus McCotter's Seat if you will before his staff screwed up his reelection bid via ballot signature malfeasance.
* Ken Bentivolio took over, and was nudged out, since he was not eGOP IMHO. Some considered him a bit odd, I was fine with him, he was Tea-Party-ish.
* Trott comes in, I have voted Libertarian instead, yes I am no fan.
* IMHO the district is changing, it will be a tough slog as immigrant population in that district is more Dem leaning, note it is middle class district and up from their.
* Lena Epstein is running for that seat. Yes, for a while she was running against Stabenow.
* It will be interesting to see how Lena does...

His District is MAGA and the state of Michigan is reddening if you go by all the Trump Pence signs last fall. Working class former Democrat Union members and professional middle class Republicans who aren’t Rich enough to be swamp Elite are making Michigan difficult for Democrats who used to take Detroit Wayne County, and Flint for granted as all they needed to win
