The Alabama Republican Party this week signaled it remains firmly behind Moore.
The state party steering committee issued a statement that the allegations against Moore, which were first reported by The Washington Post, are false.
The committee stated it found these allegations to be lies, slander, deceit and the politics of personal destruction that have been used time and time again to destroy lives and win political campaigns.
Moores wife of more than three decades, Kayla Moore, declared at a press conference in Montgomery that her husband would not drop out of the race.
He will not step down. He will not stop fighting for the people of Alabama, she said.
She said the negative media coverage of Moore has come mostly from outside of the state.
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) on Friday said she would vote for Moore despite the allegations. We need to have a Republican in the United States Senate to vote on things like the Supreme Court justices, other appointments the Senate has to confirm and make major decisions, she said.
One senior Republican senator on Thursday warned that voting to expel Moore would be a mistake, given that the voters of Alabama are already aware of the allegations against him.
Who are we to expel someone who is duly elected by the voters? It raises constitutional issues, the lawmaker said.

“These people vote based on what they heard last or because the candidate has great hair.”
probably not the case in Alabama though, which is practically the only truly conservative state remaining in the Union.
“basically to raise a middle finger to the establishment elites, who I am growing to hate with a passion.”
i strongly suspect that sentiment alone is going to motivate A LOT of Alabamians to vote for Moore. It motivated me to donate a SUBSTANTIAL amount of money to his campaign.
Yeah, right. And I’m sure if Roy Moore were signing copies of the Koran or the Communist Manifesto, the left would be fawning over Roy Moore.
“Women operate by consensus.”
total hogwash: the female vote was split nearly down the middle for and against Trump. Females are like everyone else: they vote their pocketbook and their ideology.
If Trump has taught us anything it is to NEVER GIVE IN TO BULLIES AND LIARS!. DJT has showed us that if you stand and fight for what you believe and play offense instead of defense, you can overcome any adversities.
Trump has forever changed the way political races are run and how they can be won. The media has lost almost all the power they had to influence races and are no longer trusted by large majorities of the public
Another point I have not heard considered is that Judge Moore was in the Marines during a time where marriage was discouraged due to the possibility of divided loyalties. I would think that Moores situation was the rule and not the exception for many former military personnel who chose to stay single during their military time.
“Based on the latest polls, it might be a wiser choice to postpone or cancel the Special Election”
Fantastic idea! Illegally cancel elections whenever someone doesn’t like fake poll results! Makes banana republics look like paragons of democracy!
Alabama is not going to elect a Democrat for Senator.
I guess every Moore thread must have it’s useless, defeatist, concern troll. You’re it.
Moore will WALK into the seat.. nobody believes NewsCorp polls anymore.
I’m with Judge Moore, win or lose, stand or fall. I don’t believe a single one of those effing accusers.
Bump for later
Yep - but I think the democrats are realizing they moved to soon with their false accusations. Gave Moore enough time to respond.
Bet just about anything that next time they do this only a week prior to the election. Just enough time to get out the story and prevent a response.
Mitch McTurtle needs to be brought up on charges of election tampering.
How awful that the voters might actually get to have a voice!
Maybe she knows her state all to well.
I have never lived in Alabama but I have spent most of my life in rural areas (except for service years) up until the time I got married.
For a young man, out of the service, with a full time job, the pickings are pretty slim.
Most of the single, unattached girls you would expect to meet would be between the ages of 16/17 to 19/20.
After about the age of 20 most of the young ladies have taken off for the big city for college, jobs, or generally just better prospects.
Just the way the world has worked for about the last 50 years.
Just replying to your comment about helicopter assaults.
DAMN, I really, really, hated vertical envelopment.
Never flew on army helicopters, just USMC, BUT ALL YOU GUYS WERE CRAZY AS HELL.
Wasn’t really a regulation but we found out real quick (at least for enlisted) that it almost took an act of GOD.
Our officers and senior NCO’s really frowned on it and would do just about anything to talk you out of it.
Actually worked out real well for me, I’d been overseas a little over 18 months when I was notified that the girl I was engaged to was pregnant.
I like to think I’m good, but even I knew I wasn’t THAT GOOD.
>Ivey alone has the power to postpone or cancel this Special Election. She says she wants to elect a Republican, but her inaction may very well elect a Democrat. Somebody needs to sit her down and talk reality/pragmatic politics.
Where do these Soros trolls come from?
