‘Literally Know Nothing’: Tucker Takes On Dem Over Banning MUZZLE LOADERS
The Daily Caller ^ | 11/16/17 | Justin Caruso

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson took on a Democrat Thursday over a new gun control measure targeting muzzle loaders.

Carlson asked New York City Council member Jumaane Williams, “So how many crimes do you think in the last, I don’t know, 100 years have been committed with muzzle loaders?”

Williams answered, “Well, once this new muzzle is created, we just don’t know. But, what you do a great job in, and it works for you, so I’m not saying you should stop. You do a great job of focusing on these single things…”

Tucker responded, “Oh you mean the facts? Yeah that is kind of my trade.”

Williams said, “No, it’s not facts it’s just–avoidance of a conversation about guns. And you do it very well.”

The Daily Caller co-founder responded, “Well actually, I’d very much like to have a conversation about guns.”

“So here you have Gabby Giffords’ group saying that we need to regulate a rifle, a firearm, they clearly know nothing about,” the Fox host continued. “A muzzle loader is loaded from the muzzle, from the end of the barrel, from the hole where the bullet comes out, and you put it in the powder, and then the wadding, and then the round and the whole thing takes like a minute. So it’s not probably going to be responsible for a lot of mass shootings.”

I’ve got a two-shot muzzle loading rifle (not shotgun). It is over-under and the barrels swivel (made by Leo Day). That way the fired barrel is always on top. Heavier than h*ll, though.

Not to be picky but cap and ball revolvers are “muzzleloaders” - the are multipleShot black powder weapons that load to the front of the cylindser. I have a bunch of them.

A muzzleloader would be a musket or a Pennsylvania rifle or a Plains rifle or a Civil War .58 Springfield. Suspect nobody’s been killed on purpose by one of those puppies since the 1880s or so.

OK, I have a bunch of cap and ball revolvers too: Colt, Remington, Starr replicas, including a flintlock rifle, but most would consider a cap and ball revolver (including the ATF) a muzzle loader. I have owned and been shooting muzzle loaders and cap ball revolvers for nearly 50 years.

Not only are these rifles as silent as owls in flight, the shooter is also completely hidden by the smoke cloud. It’s just like Harry Potter’s Cloak of Invisibility.

Just think about it—complete silence and invisibility—no wonder all those buffalo died!
