less and less compliance by the American people..the more illegal ‘laws’ and ‘regulations’ these Aholes try to impose

this is not good for our system of representative governance

not good at all

Article starts with massive-font “John Cornyn, Chris Murphy, Dianne Feinstein Announce Gun Control Bill” title, immediately followed by a picture of Feinstein pointing at a picture (bump stock) having absolutely nothing to do with the bill (background checks).

Presumably the same “background checks” that apply to the rest of the Bill Of Rights.

Background check doesn’t mean a thing if the government bureaucracy can’t keep accurate records, and they have proven that they can’t.

Cornyn, that ba$tard again.

They didn’t follow the existing background check gun laws with the church shooting. The USAF didn’t follow the law.
So instead of going after THEM, we get more laws.

Screw the GOP for bringing up a gun law when we are needing them more than ever, and when they haven’t funded the wall, cut taxes, or repealed Obamacare.

I’ve only skimmed over the bill itself, but on the surface, it appears that all it does is place more requirements on federal and state agencies to report criminals into the NICS system. It doesn’t appear to affect lawful gun owners or lawful firearms purchases.

And then they’ll strut around claiming they’re doing something about gun violence. Yeah, more laws, that’ll work.

Just skimmed the bill.

Upshot:
This time they will CERTIFY that agencies contributing to NICS have done so.
They’re very serious, financially & personally punishing responsible agents who do not CERTIFY their work.
They’re even going to spend $625,000,000 over five years on this CERTIFICATION & COMPLIANCE process.
Yup, they’re very serious about stating the information in NICS is correct.

Not much about _how_ they’re going to ensure all relevant data is included, but there’s plenty of encouragement about that. And certification.
