Rape is a big deal to women. Why would any man voice something that would potentially cause fear in one of them?

When done publicly in a well know media outlet, it advances the idea this kind of talk is okay.
The lie that lefty/progressive/socialist/Democrat men are on womens’ side is as big as the lie that they are on blacks’ side.
Women, like blacks, only fill a need for them (sex, votes). They are not cared for. More leftist lies.
For the same reason that old-time racists used to call competent black adults "boy" and "gal." It is a power technique to diminish and disempower other groups of people. And it is long past time for it to be correctly viewed as we now view the "n-word"—completely socially unacceptable and indecent.
