I don’t understand the tendency of some people to write anonymous notes to strangers. How other people live their lives, as long as they are not committing crimes, is none of my business.
The woman had a handicapped placard, how can a third party judge if they are or are not handicapped?
Thank you for the intelligent post.
Reminds me of a stand up comedy act I saw once:
“This guy had a handicaped placard hanging from his front window, yet when he got out of the car, there was nothing wrong with him. So I walked up to him and smacked him in the nose. I then pulled his mom out of the passenger side and beat her with her walker.”
My wife is deaf, and blind in one eye. She works late hours at a store. In our state, she is eligible for a handicapped placard for those times. Why? Because it enables her to park her car in a well-lighted section of the parking lot, near the front of the store. When she leaves work at 11:00pm, she is unable to hear a mugger sneaking up on her; being blind in one eye, neither is she able to easily see one approaching.
I guess some Freepers think she shouldn’t qualify for a handicapped placard. At the end of her 8-hour shift, she should just always go around and hope to find a co-worker to escort her, right? Every night?

Easy, they weren’t in wheelchairs.
Too sick or feeble to walk from a regular spot, too sick or feeble to be driving.
BILLIONS spent on making ALL sidewalks accessible. I never see ANYONE in a wheelchair on the sidewalks.
Cost/benefit never considered in ADA.
Correct. It was a shameful and cowardly act and hopefully the person who did it now feels some remorse for being such an idiot.
By being a democrat...
Cowards hide in anonymity like people who attack others on the internet behind anonymous names.
This happens a lot to people with MS.
They park, they get put without crutches or a wheelchair and walk in.
People see this and assume the worst.
When you have MS - a long walk across a parking lot in extreme warm or cold can wipe you out for the rest of the day.
It could be nice if people minded their own business.
