A family walks in front of the car towards the store and the dad stares at the front of the car, then leaves the family and walks around to the back and looks at the back. He then walks up to the drivers side window and knocks on it. I roll it down. He asks if I have a handicapped sticker. I tell him I dont. He then says Im parked in a handicapped space and must move. I tell him, Im not parked. Im stopped. And if these other three stalls fill up Ill move. He left in a huff.Backed in so no one could see you didn't have a handicapped plate, eh???

“Im not parked. Im stopped. “
I believe the term is “standing”. At least in NY it is.
You are not parked if a legal driver, can immediately move the vehicle if required to do so or as directed to by a police officer or other official. “standing”. It is okay to “stand” in a no “parking” zone, because you are not “parking”.

Actually, no. I didn’t even think about the plate. I backed in because it put my wife’s door on the same side as the store. Made it easier for her to get in and get out. We were on our way out of Seattle for a road trip to eastern Washington.
