President Trump got his wish Wednesday afternoon when the three UCLA basketball players busted in China for shoplifting thanked him for his help in getting them home.

The three, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley and LiAngelo Ball — younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball — also apologized to their families and their school, while thanking the Chinese cops for treating them well.

“I would like to thank President Trump and the United States government for the help they provided. I am grateful to be back home and I will never make a mistake like this again. I am extremely sorry for those that I let down,” said Ball, reading from a script in a monotone.

A contrite Riley and Hill expressed similar sentiments.

All three have been suspended indefinitely by UCLA.

One year off sounds about right. Of course they all will transfer to other schools so basically there is no consequences.

Now, that was an apology. The Democrats and Leftists could learn from these young men. They may have even learned their lesson which is something else to learn from.

Call me a cynic, but was this of their own free will? I rather doubt it. Their coaches, parents, and Dean pushed them to make it.

I haven’t listened to it, but I would not be surprised if it is the standard liberal non-apology apology.

Lastly, they are only doing it to try to save their careers.

OK, enough cynicism for one afternoon.

When I was their age, and I can say that for tens of millions of other kids, we never had the chance to travel to foreign nations.

It boggles the mind they would go there and do something like this.

There are a number of things related to them, their school programs, the nation, and international relations involved here.

They could easily have spent years in a Chinese jail cell.

They have no idea how lucky they are.

Title is designed to make it look like they were suspended for thanking Trump.

while thanking the Chinese cops for treating them well.

Not like those nasty American cops, eh?

When these UCLA players were arrested, I guarantee you the first call the local area Public Security station chief made was to his boss, the Public Security Chief for Beijing. That guy immediately called the Chinese Politburo and Foreign Ministry to ask - "what do we do with these guys?"
