Eating rivals is mostly a cultural trait in the countries around the Great Lakes and in West Africa.
AFAIK, more sophisticated Zimbaweans “only” practice necklacing and/or eat some internal parts.
Not that necklacing is absent elsewhere, Samuel Baker had described it more than a century ago in his riveting book The Great Basin of the Nile.

From the warning issued to them near the end of the announcement, my take is that the "criminals" are the "other security forces."
So the coup failed? That’s too bad.
I very nearly went that route when I came of age, but it was plainly starting to fall apart by then.

That's putting it mildly. My understanding is that she is hated by a large chunk of the country. Hence my comment on anther thread that they would shoot Mugabe, blame Grace, and then shoot her...

Grace supposedly fled to Namibia this morning.
If she’s wise she took a couple of million dollars from the state treasury and has a nice villa lined up as a retirement home in the Maldives.
She’s beaten and she should know it. How she thought she was going to win when she was such an absurd character loathed by everyone is a mystery.
