Zimbabwe's military has read out a statement on the country's national broadcaster, ZBC, saying it has taken action to "target criminals".

However, it said this was not "a military takeover of government" and President Robert Mugabe was safe.

Heavy gunfire and artillery were heard in northern suburbs of the capital, Harare, early on Wednesday.

Zimbabwe's envoy to South Africa, Isaac Moyo, earlier dismissed talk of a coup, saying the government was "intact".

A statement read out by the military on TV said the army wanted to deal with people who "were committing crimes that are causing social and economic suffering in the country.

Well, I assume the plan is to shoot Mugabe, blame Grace, and shoot her for shooting him.

Sounds like something is (finally) going down there.

The BIG QUESTION is whether the farmers will return...it’s going to be a tough choice. They love the land, know how to work the land, and probably love most of the people there.

This will be interesting to watch. Hopefully South Africa learns something here.

No, China is just taking care of loose ends there.
Some people there don’t seem to know who the new boss is.

Targeting criminals? Shouldn't that be Robert Mugabe?? Of course, he isn't that bad....

Compared to Obama...😀

The BIG QUESTION is whether the farmers will return..

No, no hope for the farmers as the fellow “Patriotic Front” Marxist position themselves to be in power.

If the military stars tweeting “Crooked Grace”, it’s all over for her.

I suspect the racers in “The Amazing Race” (which passed through the country on one of its “legs” a while back when filming the season that will air next spring) had something to do with triggering this coup in Zimbabwe. I’ll pay close attention to who “Cody, the marine” contacts when the series airs. He may have passed on secret orders for the coup.

For anyone who can’t figure this out, this post is SARCASM. Yes, The Amazing race passed through Harare, Zimbabwe but they didn’t trigger the coup.

The Army is saving the great national hero Mugabe from the corrupt connivers around him. Of course, for his own good, Mugabe won’t be permitted to exercise any power over anything except maybe his cat from now on until his age and ill health finally catch up to him nest week.
