The question is shockingly stupid. One in ten thousand cases have genitalia different from their chromosomes, and those rare freaks are the exception. Otherwise, it’s not “the sex they were assigned”; it’s the sex determined by their chromosomes.

To be precise, gender isn’t assigned at birth. It’s assigned at conception.
