We can fight back against a man with a gun; not so much with a hidden bomb.

He’s an MD. If you’re a military doctor, you’ve got to be damn near incompetent not to attain this rank.

Winslow was an Air Force physician.

He is being appointed as Assistant Secretary for Health Affairs.

How did he rise to the rank of Colonel? He served part-time for 35 years in the Air National Guard.

He knows nothing about small arms.

We just elected another gun-grabbing, former Army doctor governor here in Virginia.

I knew liberal Colonels in my Army days. Most are brigade commanders at some point, where their word is law & can end careers in a heartbeat. Court-martial is their weapon.

They rule not only in tactical matters but logistics, infrastructure, and who gets to live where. After retiring, liberal colonels tend to prefer strong centralized government at just about any level. Used to controlling vast inventories of weapons from rifles to heavy artillery & tanks, they look with a jaundiced eye a private gun ownership.

This nominee fits the pattern to a T. Fortunately, they are not all that common in the field grade ranks.

this guy needs to withdraw from the nomination. Or Trump needs to cut him off at the knees.

He won't, and he won't.

Would he equally obsessed with M1 variants which pokes holes 30% larger than the size of an AR and carries 3 x more mass?

This is fake news from Fox. The actual quote while not good is directed at AR-15’s, not all semi-autos.

It is NOT fake news, unless the entire quote was fabricated. A semi-auto rifle is a semi-auto rifle. The rest is cosmetics. This bastard wants to ban them all. Don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise.

My bad. I didn’t know this O-6 was a USAF physician.

Wonder what he thinks about doctors interrogating their patients about guns.

The article may be better, but the statement is the same damning anti-gun crap. Bastard is a petty tyrant in the making.

The pentagon has plans to fight/battle/war with EVERY country. North Korea, and Iran are obvious even if we aren’t fighting now. For some reason people were surprised a few years ago when it came out that we have plans in case Canada attacks. Even if unlikely we need a plan to start with rather than starting from scratch if it looks necessary.

It shouldn’t shock anyone that they have plans to battle US citizens if/when needed. And limiting the arms citizens have access to is certainly part of that plan and they can start working on today. I’d bet US citizens are in the top 5 on the list of concerns the pentagon has on for attacks on the mainland in the foreseeable future (and Canada isn’t top 5 and they have a plan) .

No, it’s insane for the government to involve itself in attempting to provide things to people or communities that they can on average do for themselves.

“Being a graduate of the Ivy League in general should disqualify a candidate.”

Your list is too narrow. Stanford isn’t Ivy League.

Contingency planning is there for “all” threats foreign and domestic. With so many plans made, they ran out of colors.

Such as the guy who used his AR-15 to confront that demon who shot up that church in Sutherland Springs, TX?

I'm a retired Air Force colonel. I don't know what it's like now, but when I was on active duty, I had to go through annual militarization with a 1911. Carried one in SEA, as well as an AR-15.

I still shoot regularly at my gun club.
