Agreed. This is the most likely explanation.

We were promised a fighter who would go after the things we cared about. Instead we got a coward who recuses himself at every turn.

You just be right. Sessions is a good man and is conservative. But he can’t keep recusing himself. He has to go.

Or he knows that Mueller is up to his neck in the Uranium One deal and he won't put himself in a position where he's have to investigate or testify against Mueller.
