Attorney General Jeff Sessions told a small group of lawmakers in late September he was recused from appointing a special counsel to look into potential corruption surrounding the Uranium One deal and Fusion GPS’s work on the Trump dossier, according to one of the lawmakers present.

What basis do you have to believe that “Special Counsel” is investigating Clinton or any Democrat? He hired only Dems to act as his investigators, and moved the Grand Jury from northern VA to DC, where it is all Black and Democrat.

This “investigation” is about getting Trump and the GOP.

If Sessions is fired I doubt the Senate will confirm a replacement.

“Sessions is working on the Foundation. Mueller is investigating all of Hillary’s other scandals.”

In a day when the AG has opportunity to do a daily arrest and indictment of politicians, lobbyists, terrorists, anarchists, racketeers, molesters, arms dealers, and a host of associated crime critters, Mr Sessions can be found hiding behind the curtains in his bedroom.

Whoa whoa cowboy . . . same article also states . . .

Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores said others in the room do not remember Sessions saying anything like that and that the subject was “discussed.” She would not comment on whether Sessions has recused himself.

“I’ve talked to people who were in the room and they don’t remember him saying anything like this. The subject was discussed so maybe someone misconstrued what he said. I can’t comment on recusal issues though because to do so would confirm or deny the existence of an investigation,” she said in a statement to Breitbart News.

totally convoluted, following disgusting

So where is the required letter of recusal to the DOJ staff?

Here is the only statement of recusal he has made and it says nothing about this issue.

Attorney General Sessions Statement on Recusal

Attorney General Jeff Sessions today issued the following statement:

“During the course of the confirmation proceedings on my nomination to be Attorney General, I advised the Senate Judiciary Committee that ‘[i]f a specific matter arose where I believed my impartiality might reasonably be questioned, I would consult with Department ethics officials regarding the most appropriate way to proceed.’

“During the course of the last several weeks, I have met with the relevant senior career Department officials to discuss whether I should recuse myself from any matters arising from the campaigns for President of the United States.

“Having concluded those meetings today, I have decided to recuse myself from any existing or future investigations of any matters related in any way to the campaigns for President of the United States.

“I have taken no actions regarding any such matters, to the extent they exist.

“This announcement should not be interpreted as confirmation of the existence of any investigation or suggestive of the scope of any such investigation.

“Consistent with the succession order for the Department of Justice, Acting Deputy Attorney General and U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Dana Boente shall act as and perform the functions of the Attorney General with respect to any matters from which I have recused myself to the extent they exist.”

The problem is that Jared or someone gave Trump bad advice on Rosenstein, who Dems know is on their side, so they’d try to stop any replacement for Sessions, and probably with McCain, Corker & Flake helping.

I think the answer is obvious.

DJT needs to pressure Sessions unmercifully to fire Rosenstein and any replacements until we get a good #2 man in place. At that point firing Sessions becomes a possibility. The RATs will not block a new AG in the acting AG is no longer favorable to them.

Sessions is working on the Foundation. Mueller is investigating all of Hillary’s other scandals. IMO

Possibly. It may be that Trump knows of this and wants a certain level of compartmentalization, so to speak.

I posted this comment about Sessions back in July: “I once dreamed of getting an important, high-paying job. And then recusing myself from the duties of the job. Then I woke up. I guess you could say that Sessions is living my dream. I wish he’d wake up.” Worth repeating.

No. Did you know that a guy had been cooperating since his arrest and likely wore a wire.

Nope, you didn’t know until just a few days ago...

He has to cooperate for the duration.

You might want to consider the mystery of his tweet of a pic in London saying #business.
Some possibilities:
Weissmann et al sent him on an errand to London

or

They told him to tweet an old pic and pretend it was recent for some reason . Photo detectives say old photo based on something in photo

Someone wanted to scare some people

Another possibility is that he decided on his own to provide some cover for those days in question..but kind of doubt he did that on his own

Yes, it seems the only part of his job he doesn’t need to recuse himself from is fighting the neverending “drug war”.

There are quite a few people here that believe that.

There are also some that go a step further and claim that Mueller is what I deem an illegal secret alliance with trump..including one who says he sources are always 100% right and never wrong

An apt caption for that graphic could easily be one from a Sherlocke Holmes story:
