The “elites” is a humpty-dumptism. Whatever the elites are, they hate Israel, as is apparent from the anti-Israel groups they finance on college campuses all over the world, and the NGOs and fake political parties they finance within Israel. Israel can’t have Hizbollah concentrated on the border, digging tunnels, sending forth infiltrators and firing missiles. This isn’t “justification” for military action in Syria, but a matter of life and death for Israelis.
I have no doubt that “the elites” have a problem with Russia and Trump, but leave Israel out of it. Our news doesn’t happen on TV or in brain trusts. It charges at us in cars and with knives, or comes out of the sky from across the borders. As for our “powerful lobby,” OPEC, the PLO and Iran have theirs,too, and more money to pour into political systems everywhere, even in bad years, than Israel will ever see.
But apparently has no problem with ISIS camping out along the Golan Heights...go figure.
You find it odd that Israel must concern itself with the most immediate direct threats to Israel and put off dealing with longer term threats?

I’d like an explanation how a warehouse in Homs poses a greater threat to Israelis than a ISIS terrorist camp 2km from a Golan settlement.
Israel has no problem lobbying the US for billions in aid and weapon systems, it seems the least they could do is not provide safe havens for sworn US enemies.

There is no safe haven for ISIS. What? IDF is guarding the camp and providing intel? They aren’t attacking it for now is all. That’s a ‘safe haven’?
