The Argentine victims were from the city of Rosario, and were visiting New York for a school reunion.
Eleven others were seriously hurt when the truck driver struck in broad daylight just blocks from the 9/11 Memorial, on the West Side of Lower Manhattan, close to schools as children and their parents geared up to celebrate Halloween.
"The Argentine government expresses its most sincere condolences for the deaths of Argentine nationals Hernan Diego Mendoza, Diego Enrique Angelini, Alejandro Damian Pagnucco, Ariel Erlij and Hernan Ferruchi, in the dramatic terrorist attack this afternoon in New York," a ministry statement said.
The injured man was named as Martin Ludovico Marro, who was being treated at Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan with non-life-threatening injuries, it added.
Not exactly as diverse as I would have hoped for.
Along with at least one Belgian being killed, I wonder if any of the fatalities were Americans. It sounds terrible, but I hope not; I hope the other fatalities are Saudis.
Our Sunday School lesson last Sunday was about the reality of the spiritual warfare we are engaged in. Everyone is involved, with or without their knowledge. This brings that reality into sharp focus.

From the point of view of the left, the real tragedy is that they were not killed with a gun. If a gun had been used, it would have been a fine “teachable moment” for gun control.
The irony here is that NYC hasn't been an American city in years.
Democrats DO NOT LIKE IT when foreign tourists (i.e., $$$$) are killed by locals. If Delblasio is like Lawton Childs, he’ll round up every Muslim in NYC and make them PROVE they’re not actually terrorists (and you won’t hear a peep from the ACLU).
If the driver had just limited his killings to Americans (preferably white, but really any color is fine), then NO ISSUE - but don’t EVER mess with the $$$$ gravy train, not in a Democrat run city.

I just heard about the Rosario connection. I have visited Rosario many many times in the past 16 years, and have seom good friends there.
One was named Hernan, and another Alejandro... (I didn’t remember their last names without looking it up). But, none of those guys were mu friends. They all look about the same age though. So, I think there’s good chance someone I know, knew at least one of them.
Such a shame. The people in Argentina are SO friendly. This will make waves in a city like Rosario.
It just ASTOUNDS me that the Dems seem to think that they can politically have it both ways: Import people from terrorist states...and I guess HOPE they leave their terrorism behind, because if they don’t, they give Trump and every other (non-McCain) Republican incredible fodder to club them (the Dems) over the head.
