Too bad Republican leadership in the House and Senate lacks the testosterone to hold meaningful hearings. Trump was stuck with Ryan and McConnell but it was he who listened to his daughter and son in law,hired Manafort and selected Sessions. Historians will not be kind to his ability to judge talent or to the workings of the Justice Department for the past ten years.

I recall at the time that Cruz was stealing Trump delegares, and threatening to expand the operation at the convention. Trump called Roger Stone and asked if Cruz could really do that. Stone said yes, he could. Trump asked what he could do about it. Stone told him to hire Manafort. Jared and Ivanka were never in the loop.
