Spain's top prosecutor called for charges against sacked Catalan president Carles Puigdemont and other separatist leaders on Monday as Barcelona capitulated to Madrid. Mr Puigdemont and former speaker Carme Forcadell were ordered to hand themselves over to police on charges of rebellion, sedition and embezzlement as Mr Puigdemont's bail was set at 6million Euros (£5.3million).

I’d be surprised if those unelected,$500K/yr,Mercedes limo pigs running the EU aren’t really concerned about this.They’re doing everything they can to prevent Britain from leaving...and it looks like they just might succeed.But the situation in Spain is,at least symbolically,just as damaging as Brexit.Maybe even more damaging.

I would have moved every record out of Catalonia, deleted every outstanding ticket and fine, released every prisoner from the jails, handed over the keys and wished them luck.
How should limited government, traditional-values conservatives react to this? Favorable? Unfavorable? Need a good think piece.

Catalonia is a very extreme left-wing population. They, like all liberals, love to mouth off but have no clue how to enforce their ways.
Don’t declare independence you aren’t willing to give your lives, fortunes, and sacred honor for.
Very complex situation and history that doesn’t map into US politics in any systematic way.
There are, for instance, TWO sets of “deplorables” and TWO “swamps”. And both are present in the same region. There is culture war on both sides and both have reason to be aggrieved.
Among other things, Spain has a volunteer military, and since it is seen by separatist Catalans as an oppressive institution of the national government, few join it. Hence there are very few nationalist Catalans in it. Hence few Catalans have military training.
There are social-political-cultural-religious-ethnic factors --- and even strong ties of personal loyalty in which individuals are identified with almost inscrutable movements ---- which are different altogether from any scene we as Americans would identify with.
Belgium is part of the EU so he’s not safe there either . The EU communist are more dangerous than Spain
Because the Catalan “independence” movement is all about getting more money out of the EU.

It is so curious how much effort the Spanish government expends in this case, but rolls over for the Islamic invasion.
