The charges have nothing to do with the 2016 election.
All of this has nothing to do with collusion or Trump. It was for alleged monetary irregularities which took place 4-5 yrs ago and some of which were investigated and dropped by the FBI.
This may not be bad news. The charges seem unrelated to Trump, and the defense will likely go after Mueller’s entire operation.
In context, Manafort was associated with Tony Podesta, not DJT. But the NYT has to spin it to smear Trump.
I notice that Trump is mentioned three times in this brief article, in an attempt to tie him to Manafort, but the fact that the activity they’re questioning occurred long before Manafort joined the Trump campaign is not mentioned AT ALL.
