President Trump responded to reports that special counsel Robert Mueller is about to indict people in his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election by pointing the finger at Democrats.
Trump said the investigation into whether his campaign colluded with the Kremlin is “phony,” “bad for our country,” a “witch hunt,” and “evil politics.”
He added the news that Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid for the unverified dossier alleging scandalous behavior by Trump has united Republicans.
“Never seen such Republican ANGER & UNITY as I have concerning the lack of investigation on Clinton made Fake Dossier (now $12,000,000?), the Uranium to Russia deal, the 33,000 plus deleted Emails, the Comey fix and so much more,” Trump tweeted.
“Instead they look at phony Trump/Russia, ‘collusion,’ which doesn't exist. The Dems are using this terrible (and bad for our country) Witch Hunt for evil politics, but the R's are now fighting back like never before. There is so much GUILT by Democrats/Clinton, and now the facts are pouring out. DO SOMETHING!”

May I suggest we wait and see how it all plays out before we rush to an opinion? None of us are in Sessions’ inner circle. We don’t know what he’s done at this point.
What we DO know: Trump is no dummy. And he doesn’t suffer fools.

I can not believe someone like POTUS Trump would leave Sessions in place if he had no confidence in him.

I can’t believe how many people think Sessions is doing nothing because the DoJ doesn’t give a play by play running monologue about what they’re working on.
Are people here doped up? In rehab? On psych drugs? I don’t get the opacity of brain functioning here.

all President Trump has to do is call his Attorney General...if he belives prosecutions are warranted, as they so patently appear to be, then he should do them without further delay. Tweeting is fine in some ways but it does not accomplish an investigation or a needed prosecution.
I hope what LS says is true, but this is the most glaring flaw in the scenario. Granted, any explanation that could be proferred is purely speculative, but I can't imagine any speculation that would answer this question. Perhaps I'm lacking in sufficient imagination, so I would appreciate hearing any theory that can answer this question while allowing LS's premise.
Everyone wants instant justice, of course.
But the takedown of The Corruption simply COULD NOT HAVE SUCCEEDED if Trump had announced it on January 21st, with no case built and the DoJ and FBI still totally stocked with the crooks themselves, including Comey.
And yes, Sessions has been in it from day 1. He will be 100% vindicated when this is over.
If Manafort is indicted tomorrow, do you feel we're any closer to an answer about what's really going on with this bogus investigation? I'm thinking no, it could still be going in either direction.

Okay, try this: Mueller DID report on U-1 to the proper DoJ channels when he was Director, but was overruled. Ever since then his conscience has been burning him. When Trump interviewed him the day before he was named Special Counsel, Trump had one principal question: “Are you willing to serve your country and take this wherever it leads, including the Clintons?” Obviously Mueller passed the interview.
One more hint: The WSJ is NOT OUR FRIEND. When they started talking down Mueller, it was NOT TO BENEFIT TRUMP! So whom are they protecting??
My guess is that there are some Never-Trumpers with their fingers in the Clinton Foundation pie.
I have faith that when Trump says, “DO SOMETHING,” he means it. He’s a straight shooter; he says what he means and means what he says.
I also have faith that had Sessions been honest and told Trump he might recuse, Trump would not have appointed him AG. This is what Trump said, and he’s not a liar.

I have neither knowledge nor particular credibility, but I love playing devil’s advocate.
Suppose it went like this (Christopher Walkens voice):
“Mr Mueller, the President has evidence, evidence that you are dirty. Evidence that links you to every dirty and foul deed for eight years or more.
Now....Mr Mueller, the President doesn’t want you to end this little witch hunt.....because he knows there is nothing there.
Nothing on HIM at all.
However Mr Mueller....you will come across evidence, evidence that will lead to many places you rather it wouldn’t.
But please pursue that evidence with vigor.
If you are able to present the President with scalps...scalps that would damage his opponents he would be...grateful.
In closing...and regarding your own possible misdeeds, I only have one question.
Mr Mueller.....can you say Presidential Pardon?
