Report: Paul Singer-Funded Washington Free Beacon Behind Initial Fusion GPS Trump Effort
Breitbart ^ | October 27, 2017 | Adam Shaw

The Washington Free Beacon, funded by GOP mega-donor Paul Singer was reportedly the original funder of Fusion GPS’ research project that attempted to dig up dirt on then-candidate Donald Trump — a project that would later be funded by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

The Washington Examiner reported Friday that lawyers for the Free Beacon — a plucky conservative outlet based in the nation’s capital — funded the project from fall 2015 to spring 2016, when it pulled its funding.

(snip)

The Free Beacon is funded in large part by the New York hedge fund billionaire and major GOP donor Paul Singer, the New York Times reported.

So would I, but it just got repeated on Tucker's show.

And, sadly, now Tucker has his usual batshit crazy faaaaaaaar lefty on, who is claiming that Hilary and her campaign had NOTHING at all to do with the "dossier"; never paid for it, never saw it, didn't know about it and besides which, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA and Putin colluded with Trump, who "stole" the election. *eye roll*

Soon we’ll have the Fusion bank transactions.

And we’ll know for sure if this is BS or not.

The Trump dossier was a shameful attempt at character assassination. In addition to portraying Donald Trump as a sexual deviant, it attempted to show that Trump was in collusion with the Russian government. Much effort is being made to determine who initially funded the defamation. The House has subpoenaed the bank records of the company that assembled much of the dossier but it will be difficult to sift through layers and determine with certainty who did the initial funding. Was Singer the front man? Was he fronting for Rubio? Doubtful. Or was it more likely that the embittered Bush family initiated the process. There is no doubt the Obama Administration, with a corrupt Justice Department and compromised FBI , used the dossier to harm Trump, aid Clinton and shield themselves from becoming accountable for their crimes by assuring the election of Clinton. When this is over Trump will have his cold revenge. He will not only expose the culpability of the Bush family but will expose their close collusion with the Saudis that made them wealthy. That collusion directly led to the absolution of the Saudi royal family and government for any responsibility for 9/11 and led to the catastrophic US invasion of Iraq. Trump will also expose the Obama administration and the Clintons for all its deviant personal and criminal deeds.
The greatest anger should be directed at the Bush family and their phoniness that led to so many dead , physically and psychologically maimed young Americans.

“NeverTrumpers selling their souls to get Communist Democrats elected”

First, the GOP must die.

Everything else comes after that.

So, a pickle-sniffing Jewish billionaire funds the Washington Free Beacon, run by a neocon Jewish never-Trumper, and gets nothing for his investment.

Overlap between April when the Clinton campaign started with Fusion GPS, and May when WFB reportedly dropped their research. So, to say that the Clinton campaign “picked up” the WFB research is misleading in more ways than one. When did WFB agree to provide the research they’d contracted to the Clinton campaign, and did money change hands? I can’t imagine they just gave it away, not with the Clinton campaign already paying Fusion GPS for research.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/27/us/politics/trump-dossier-paul-singer.html?_r=0

According to people briefed on the conversation, the website hired the firm, Fusion GPS, in October 2015 to unearth damaging information about several Republican presidential candidates, including Mr. Trump. But The Free Beacon told the firm to stop doing research on Mr. Trump in May 2016, as Mr. Trump was clinching the Republican nomination.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/03/31/company-linked-to-trump-russian-dossier-has-its-own-kremlin-connection-us-senator-says.html

The company that created a discredited dossier for President Trump’s campaign rivals and was later used by the FBI in its probe of possible links between Trump and Russia has its own Kremlin connection, according to a powerful U.S. Senator.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has asked the U.S. Department of Justice to launch an investigation into Washington-based Fusion GPS, which produced the 35-page Trump dossier with help from ex-British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. Grassley wants to know why the FBI might seek evidence tying Trump to Russia from a firm whose own hands may not be clean.

“The issue is of particular concern to the Senate Judiciary Committee given that when Fusion GPS reportedly was acting as an unregistered agent of Russian interests, it appears to have been simultaneously overseeing the creation of the unsubstantiated dossier of allegations of a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians,” Grassley said in a letter to the Department of Justice.

The dossier, containing salacious allegations pointing to collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow, was leaked to the media in January, prompting Trump to deny its contents. It later emerged that the FBI had hired Steele to dig into Trump’s purported Russia links even as Russian operatives hired Fusion GPS for a separate high profile political battle.

According to a complaint filed with the Justice Department, Fusion GPS headed the pro-Russia campaign to kill the Global Magnitsky Act, which imposes sanctions on Russians designated as human rights abusers. This was the same time, Grassley said, that the FBI was relying on the anti-Trump dossier and the man who produced it for Fusion to further its investigation into Trump and his Russian ties.

It is “unclear whether the FBI was aware of the company’s pro-Russia activities” when the FBI reportedly hired its researcher to further the research on Trump and “…when evaluating the credibility of the dossier the company helped create,” Grassley said.

The Global Magnitsky Act, which is named for an attorney who died while in the custody of the Russian government after he accused the Russian government and organized crime of stealing hundreds of millions of dollars from Hermitage Capital Management.

The U.S. Justice Department in 2013 opened a case against the Russian-owned Prevezon Holdings, which had purchased real estate in New York with the stolen funds, according to the Justice Department’s complaint.

Prevezon Holdings, backed by the Kremlin, launched a campaign to undermine the Magnitsky Act, Grassley said, citing a 2016 complaint by Hermitage CEO William Browder.

Fusion GPS was hired to generate negative press coverage on the Russians’ behalf, Grassley said. And Rinat Akhmetshin, a Russian immigrant who has reportedly acknowledged being a Russian counterintelligence officer, lobbied congressional staffers to repeal the Magnitsky Act itself, Grassley said.

“It is particularly disturbing that Mr. Akhmetshin and Fusion GPS were working together on this pro-Russia lobbying effort in 2016 in light of Mr. Akhmetshin’s history and reputation,” Grassley said, citing reports Akhmetshin worked for the GRU, Russia’s foreign intelligence agency and allegedly specializes in “subversive political influence operations often involving disinformation and propaganda.”

The relationship between Fusion GPS and Akhmetshin casts further doubt on the dossier used against Trump, Grassley said.

Soon we’ll have the Fusion bank transactions.

From TD Bank which is a non-connected bank, they are from Canada! So are more likely to give uo the Fusion GPS transactions.

Washington Free Beacon did not provide the info to the Clinton campaign. They hired Fusion GPS to find negative info on President Trump. WFB dropped the interest and the Clinton campaign picked it up/paid for info from Russian GPS.

Has nothing to do with the dossier, or with Obama using the dossier as reason to spy on Trump.

Hopefully Trump will go after Obama and his CIA and FBI and bring him and them to justice. A POTUS cannot weaponize agencies against his political opponents. That is unacceptable. It is intolerable.
