A Michigan man is accused of making threats to kill President Trump in a series of phone calls to the U.S. Secret Service.
James Anthony Jackson, who has apparent ties to Grand Rapids, is named in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Detroit.
The Secret Service said Jackson "spoofed" calls so that incoming calls to federal offices appeared to be from phones other than his.
The profanity-laced calls included this statement: "... I'm going to blow Trump's brains out," records said.
Matthew Lariviere, a Secret Service special agent in Detroit, filed the complaint alleging Jackson threatened the president.
The first "nuisance" call from Jackson came Sept. 17, the special agent said.
On Oct. 12 and 13, Jackson allegedly made several calls to the Secret Service in Detroit and Chicago that included profanity and threats.
On Oct. 18, Jackson allegedly made several calls to the Detroit office, saying, "why ya'll messing with my wires' and 'I'm going to blow Trump's brains out."
The phone number, with the 616 area code, was captured during the call. Investigators sought subscriber information from T-Mobile.
It came back to "James Jackson Profit Group LLC," with an address for a Grand Rapids outreach center. The address was redacted in court records. Jackson last reported to the outreach center on Oct. 6 to ask about mail services, the government said.
Court records did not provide his age but said he was born in 1984.
Jackson's cell phone records also showed that he frequently called a phone number with a 517 area code. Lariviere said the owner of that number said she met Jackson Oct. 18 on an online meeting application.
She knew Jackson as Jamie, she told investigators.
"Jamie began to harass and threaten her via the cellular number 616-xxx-xx88. (She) stated that Jamie told her he was 'going to cut off her head and parade it in front of the White House for Trump,' and that he was going to 'Kill President Trump,'" Lariviere wrote.
On Oct. 20, the special agent sent Jackson's driver's license photo to the woman he met on line. She said that the image was the same as that he used on the social-media app.
Later that day, the special agent met with Jackson's uncle. The uncle said his family had not heard from him in over a year but said Jackson had called family members, cursing and threatening them, records said.
The uncle said Jackson worked as a truck driver.
A sister confirmed it was Jackson's voice on a recording of threats to Trump, the special agent said.

I live in a very close suburb of Grand Rapids and I have not heard of this at all. We had some threatening calls yesterday which shut down our “Michigan Trump Republicans” meeting in downtown Grand Rapids. It was ANTIFA folks....wonder if this nutjob is one of them.
Way too many recent high school and college graduates wouldn't know what to do with that info.
