graduate next year as an aerospace engineer never did well with algebra either. Calculus, trigonometry, differential equations etc, no problem. If your kid understands calculus, he understands algebra. I didn't really 'get' algebra in high school either. Not sure why ... I didn't really 'get' it until I had to use it.
