Hah! NFL Backlash So Bad "Empty Seat" Wins Giveaway Prize at Browns Game
Gateway Pundit ^ | October 23, 2017 | Joshua Caplan

The NFL is experiencing an unprecedented backlash as players kneel during the National Anthem. The boycott is so bad that the Cleveland Browns, which gives away prizes to fans during games, selected an empty seat for a giveaway.

[Snip]

It is not known what the prize was, but whatever it was, it’s quite sad the team has resorted to keeping fans happy at FirstEnergy stadium with giveaways. What's even more sad is that the seat was empty. Several NFL stadiums are nearly empty post kick-off as the National Anthem controversy rolls into week 7. The Cleveland Browns are playing at home against the Tennessee Titans. Plenty of seats went unfilled.

How to finally end Cleveland's love affair with the pathetic Browns.

This year, a lot of promising rookies were drafted. Think back to the stunt where ten players knelt in a circle for opening ceremonies. It's been said the coach and management knew about it and didn't stop it.

Now they look like they're paid to lose (so it seems from local newscast reporting). Some of Coach Hugh Jackson's decisions, from what's said in the newscast, are bizarrely awful. Turns out the "great QB" was out partying Friday night, not a good look when he's been removed from games for lousy play.

Could it be that a lot of the players are more focused on how to offend the (former) fans than in mentally preparing for the game? Could it be that Hugh Jackson doesn't "get it", and maybe isn't bright enough or in tune enough with community values to be coaching?

As long as those empty seats were paid as season tickets the team couldn’t care less.

Next year may be different but they’re counting on the short memory of the public to cover that.

I will go to my grave swearing that the game winning field-goal was wide right.

I remember that game as well, and also thought the FG was wide. I remember jumping up and down yelling "it missed!"

My father was a truck driver and was still able to afford season tickets in what became the Dawg Pound for the 1962 - 1964 seasons for himself and I.

The price for a 'seat' in the bleachers then was $2. You could get a season ticket back then for less than one ticket to one game today.

So many of these thugs were propped up and pampered all the way through college. So many would have never been accepted on their own academic merit. It started in high school for most these thugs. A dose of reality would do them good.

Along with the disgusting actions of the coddled players, the cost of the tickets just may be a factor also. I think they have “cost” themselves out of the game.

I suspect that it will take awhile for the full impact of the boycotts. Many season tickets are fully paid for, and the lucrative deals by the sponsors and networks are signed contracts.

The NFL leadership, corporate sponsors, and networks may be waiting this out, expecting it to be temporary. They are collecting more money than they deserve.

I may or may not turn my tv back on next season. Once couch potato time has been used doing other things, the other things may win permanently.

Good luck to the “fans” who like the mindless insults and protests that result in nothing.

It easy to break the football habit. Take a walk on a fall day or ride into the country. Enjoy nature and scenic waters.

First story I saw this morning. What a cheery way to start the day; I’m smiling. I hope the prize was season tickets. Heh heh!

The pacifier as mouth guard is on point. What these kneeling bastards are saying is, “THIS COUNTRY ISNT WORTH FIGHTING FOR. IT ISNT PERFECT. OUR SOLDIERS ARE STUPID. OUR FLAG IS WORTHLESS BECAUSE IT DOESNT SYMBOLIZE RAINBOW UNICORNS POOPING SKITTLES.”

Our country is following the best founding documents in effing HUMANITY. Our country has been TRYING for freedom for the common man since DAY ONE. If you don’t understand that, you’re too dumb to play a sport for us. Also: newsflash: not even your children are perfect. How is a whole country of millions supposed to be?

Though Santa Claus is pretty perfect, isn’t he? I bet he has a North Pole Football team. Go clear the ice and get those cleats. Go red, go green!

That team is so bad they could stand for the anthem and each kick money into a kettle for wounded warriors after the anthem, and that place would STILL be empty.
