President Trump Will Release the Classified JFK Files
Townhall.com ^ | October 21, 2017 | Timothy Meads

President Donald J. Trump announced via Twitter Saturday morning that he will release the long anticipated classified files surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 21, 2017

There are currently more than 3,000 classified documents in the National Archives regarding JFK’s death and the investigation into his killer, Lee Harvey Oswald.

25 years ago, Congress passed the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992 which ordered the acting commander-in-chief to release all JFK files by October 26, 2017, barring any threat to national intelligence or security.

Phil Shenon is a Kennedy expert and has written a book on the Warren Commission, the committee tasked with Kennedy’s assassination investigation. Shenon told the Washington Post that “it’s great news that the president is focused on this and that he’s trying to demonstrate transparency. But the question remains whether he will open the library in full — every word in every document, as the law requires.”

Shenon goes on to note that such a move would infuriate “people at the CIA and elsewhere who are determined to keep at least some of the information secret, especially in documents created in the 1990s.”

Reports earlier this week claimed that Roger Stone, long time Trump ally, was lobbying the President to release the documents. Stone, an infowars.com contributor told the publication on Thursday that President Trump was all ears on releasing the highly intriguing documents.

“He was all ears,” Stone said. “The president believes in transparency… he believes in the public’s right to know.”

“I am optimistic that the president is going to do the right thing.”

Stone goes on to claim that the documents will show that Lee Harvey Oswald was trained by the CIA and acted on their commands.

“Now, a very good White House source – not the president – told me that CIA Director Mike Pompeo has been lobbying the president to furiously not to release these documents.”

“Why? Because I believe they show Oswald was trained, nurtured and put into place by the CIA.”

“It sheds very bad light on the Deep State, the very same characters trying to take down our president right now.”

Many have often speculated that Oswald was part of a larger group and did not act alone, as has been the official story since 1963, the year of Kennedy’s death. However, these theories are ust pure speculation.

As Jeff Crouere said earlier on Townhall.com, the only way for complete trust and transparency is for full release of the documents.

“The President needs to strike an important blow for openness and transparency in government and allow the American people the opportunity to learn the complete story about the Kennedy assassination. Hopefully, nothing will interfere with the online disclosure of all of the JFK documents.

President Trump is being encouraged by members of both parties to fully release the files. A powerful supporter of full disclosure is U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, who said “Americans deserve a full picture of what happened on that fateful day.” Finally, after 54 years, it is time for the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.”

If I had to guess, I’d say there is stuff that makes some PRESENT-DAY politicians of both parties look...how do you say...not so good.

Perhaps something involving Bush’s farther...which then redounds on his descendants...and some similar stuff with Democrats. Otherwise it would be difficult to understand why ‘The Resistance’ is still so strong.

...will give closure to those on the left and the cottage industry that sprang up...

They should be the one fighting the release, seeing their "business" perhaps go down the tubes.

Yes, (with head bowed) he said, I meant “without redacting”.

Well, for one thing, the conspirators or someone eyeballs deep in the official story have been in every government since then. They ran the FBI and CIA until the late 80s when their hand picked and groomed successors took over. Between Johnson, Ford, Bush veep, Bush Pres, they held the White House.

Only Nixon and Carter were not involved. And in both their administrations the CIA and FBI still ran roughshod and did anything they wanted.

The idea that it was Americas coup de-tat is reinforced by the fact that the main suspects have held deep power in America ever since.

Why do I have a feeling the docs will be almost completely redacted?

**************

You will be proven right. The documents will all be released but not all the text will be released. The Deep State will see to it.

There may be discussions of Operation Northwoods and Mongoose contained in these files

Not to mention Operation Minty Hippo.

Obamy’s records should be released pronto.

The History channel had a series on the Iranian angle. The Alpha 66 organization. Of course, I didn’t catch all the segments so don’t know how they wrapped it up. I only watched as far as Oswald may have been headed to their various safe houses after the shooting.

I still wonder how Officer Tippitt knew where to find Oswald and how he knew who to look for.

BTW, Tippitt’s fudgly pinkish orange house was at the end of our street and Oswald’s boarding house was around the corner from my doctor so I knew the area well.

“If those files would have meant WW3”

Soviets, Soviets, Soviets? Guess we’ll see. I’m thinking it might have been CWII.
If the conspiracy theorists are right ... well, we’re seeing the same mind-set now: “We don’t like what he’s doing, so he has to go.” OK, some randomness ...
I didn’t care for Kennedy but the health of the presidency represents the health of the nation, even though I don’t care for the Camelot cult. We didn’t like the result but gave Obama a chance and he proved to be a dud. He had 8 long years.
I was too young to remember `60-63 first hand, my thinking is from reading about his administration, graduate level and independent reading, but the remedy would have been to vote him out in `64.
Americans were pretty much the same in `64 as now, if not tougher. Without the law, we’re all actors in The Walking Dead. That’s the way Uniparty is headed. Nobody wants anarchy, except the stupid. (While planning for it is smart.)
President Trump, again. is doing the right thing. I fear for his safety from the same mind-set over 50 years later. You know they’ve talked about it. Sunshine is the best antiseptic. Release our files on the JFK murder.

You’re implying that Reagan was part of Deep State. My sources, from long ago, tell me that was not true, which is why they nearly took him out early in his first term. Deep State was very worried about Reagan, yet they were able to cajole him, just enough, so as to be able to protect their turf.

The names of those at the CIA and other agencies who oppose releasing the files should be kept ... just in case anything is attempted — you know.

They forced George Bush on Reagan, then tried to kill Reagan one month into his term. This says an awful lot about how involved Bush was in the assassination of JFK. His operation Mongoose team did the killing. The Bush family is evil.

Include also the release of complete and unredacted, all of the remaining FDR/Pearl Harbor materials.

Now after over 75 years and decades of denied FOIA requests, much remains beyond public inspection.

For instance those documents sought include the raw and complete IJN radio intercepts from last week of November 1941 to the middle of Decemeber 1941.

Two things that some don’t want revealed....

Foreign government involvement in our government and intel apparatus.

And who instructed Ruby to kill Oswald.

I have never understood the old "sealed record" garbage: we are our own government."Of the People, By the People, For the People", right? We have the absolute right to see anything that doesn't actually affect the protection of sources and methods we need at this moment.

Protecting the reputations of long-dead Presidents has no relevance no us and our country.

We should see the records of all of the living Presidents as well and if there are crimes or malfeasance, the law should be applied. Our leaders and representatives are responsible to us.

BTW, I suspect that if the truth ever really gets out about the Kennedy assassination, we will probably owe the Oswald family big time and maybe erect a statue to Oswald if it turns out that he was framed.
