Money is a large part of it, but not the only factor.
The people most likely to become traitors do take money in return for acting against the interests of the US, but they are often motivated by ideology. There was certainly a strong ideological component to the actions of both Obama and H. Clinton when they struck this deal with Putin.
Impossible for the scandal to grow any larger. Every player has a (D) after their name. It will be staggering to observe how fast this gets buried.
