Kurds say that the Iraqi forces include not only elite Counter-Terrorism fighters but also Iranian-backed Shia militias often called Hashd al-Shaabi. Iraqis tend to stress that this is an Iraqi army operation, whereas Kurds emphasize the Iranian role. There are also divisions within the Kurdish side with some Kurdish leaders associated with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan supporting the Iraqi army against Kurdish forces associated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

I have tons of Kurdish pages on my Facecrook, the Kurds are fighting some ruthless pieces of Shit. The battle for Kirkuk has been a hard fight against the Shiites. You know it’s bad when even ISIS is attacking the Shiites from the rear flank.
Biji Kurdistan, Biji Peshmerga.
I am probably on the FBI terror watch list due to all my friends from Kurdistan on my Facebook.
So be it, if no one speaks for them we have basically turned our back on the only Muslim country(Other then Assad) that protects the Religious minorities in their country.

“Iranian-backed Shia militias often called Hashd al-Shaabi”

Bears repeating.

More Iranian troops clearing the path from Iran to the Syria border with Israel in preparation for their assault on the Golan, all with the apparent WH approval.

I don’t do Facebook.

I am on Twitter and have been on board supporting them since before Kobani. Have close friends in Syria now.

Of all the Kurds, they are really good people. Poor, support their neighbors and dispatch ISIS and Jihadis.

I get criticism here for some of what I post, but I feel compelled to do it.

I absolutely do not believe that.

Trump is solid for Israel.

Regardless of belief, US troops stationed in Syria pulled out and their positions were taken by Iranian backed troops, granting them near unfettered access to the Golan. The Iranian and Hezbollah current push in Iraq is just a clearing operation - pushing the Kurds back in near panic.

Israel no longer will get oil from Iraq - once their main supply - as Kirkuk and the oil fields are now under Iranian control.

The Kurds are Sunni muslims. Iraq and Syria are Shiite muslims. What this is is a preview of times when Islam has conquered Christian civilization and converted / killed all non-muslims. Then they turn on each other, as being previewed in this article.

And yes, it’s a shame because they are probably the most moderate of the muslim sects. That is why Syria and Iraq want to destroy them now.

This was not about the Referendum. It was about Israel saying they would recognize Kurdistan and their presence in Erbil during the referendum.

There were questions about the accuracy of the Referendum, as opposed to an election. But point is not the referendum, but the open association with Israel. Which is not a new thing with KRG. The Kurd Jews were long ago moved to Israel. Heads exploded with rage in Iran and Turkey when it became apparent Israel would help KRG. And the KRG would support Israel.

We wait now.

You said: “The Kurds are Sunni muslims.”

Totally incorrect.

Iranian Kurds are largely Muslim (was roughly 75% Sunni, 25% Shia, with some other non muslims). Syrian Kurds are totally secular. Their ranks include Muslims, Christians, Ezidi, Alevi and quite a few atheists.

No, you did not. But the Iraqi government in Baghdad did, whiney excuse for their nonsense.

This is really about Israel and oil sales.

Some analysts are pointing to Trump’s designation of the Iranian Republican Guards Corps (which owns a majority of the Iranian economy, and is the basis of the dictatorship) as a terrorist group a week before, as the real reason for Iran striking against US allies in Kirkuk this week.

Iranian leaders have been saying for months that they would strike against US interests in the region, if the IRGC was designated.

Facing the reality of the regime in Iran is in the long term a very pro-Israeli position. In the short term though, the enemy gets a vote. The assault on Kirkuk was a wily chess move by Iran, in their long term game against both the US and Israel.
