I guess you weren’t paying attention when we went for Reagan in both elections.
And again in 1994 when we passed Prop 187 against the pro-illegal alien meddling of then Texas Gov George Bush.

Reagan wanted his friend Paul Laxalt, the former Governor of Nevada. He was pressured into accepting Bush in order to keep the support of GOP “moderates” who were not happy at having Reagan as their candidate.
Rush just shreds the GOPe day after day on national radio like this. And it doesn’t make a dent at all. The arrogance is breathtaking.
Prop 187 was shot down by California courts, therefore irrelevant.
A democrat has won the state in nat’l elections from ‘92 to present.
No state votes against a ‘home-grown’ Presidential candidate, you know that.

Yep. Rush was solidly GOPe for decades. Now he has abandoned them and thrashes them on a daily basis. You’d think they’d buy a clue when the lost Rush but apparently not. I can only think they prefer progressive Democrats to the GOP base that elects them. Nothing else makes sense.

I doubt he’s really paying much attentionto politics. He’s painting at his ranch and whatnot. One of his Never Trumper speech writers put this on his desk and he signed off on it. I doubt he has a clue how much damage he does to the family name. He’s single handily ending George P. Bush’s national ambitions, IMO. Nobody is going to vote for another Bush after getting all this garbage dumped on them.

A Federal judge, Mariana Pfaelzer, struck down the law after sitting on her decision for 3 years. She was waiting for a Democrat Governor to be elected in order that her decision wouldn’t be sent to the Appeals Court for review.
Her decision can still be appealed at any time. But when we got another Republican, Arnold, he refused to appeal it- because the national GOPe has never wanted to do anything about illegal immigration.
The treatment of Prop 187 convinced me that the US federal court system was nothing but criminals and traitors. Judges deserve no respect.
The court DID STRIKE IT DOWN, as you just said.
But an appeal of the decision died in the hallways of State Gov’t.
Then Prop. 187 is in legal limbo, never to return.
How then, is my original statement foolish?
What prompted Rush to stop being a good little water boy for the GOPe was watching the firestorm that hit Bush when he tried to ram amnesty through.

Well he never did, but when he saw the reaction to Bush’s attempted amnesty he got a wake up call. It was either chase the parade and yell “wait! wait! I’m your leader!” or get left in the dust with the GOPe.

Exactly right.
It amazes me how many people here on FR still don’t get that the NUMBER ONE reason the GOPe does what it does is the open borders/amnesty agenda.
They have been actively thwarting the citizens every attempt to stop the illegal alien inundation.
From prosecuting border agents to manipulating elections to courts, the Uniparty has encouraged it.
The illegal alien inundation was intentional.
Because if you knew what you were talking about you’d know that Pfaelzer was a federal judge, and you would know that her decision remains in effect only because Gray Davis, Arnold, and Jerry Brown have refused to send it to the court of appeals.
Collusion of one judge and three Governors to prevent Prop 187 from being decided by an appeals court is not “legal limbo”, it is collusion to prevent the voters of California from having their day in court.
It seems that finally Rush has come around to putting GWB in his proper historical context. At one time the two were reported to be close.
I guess 2000 had the three worst candidates we can imagine: McPain, GWB, and Gore. We lost all around. Wish I had voted for Buchanan that year too as I did in 1992 and 1996
