Which makes the speech he gave Thursday in New York City -- a point-by-point rejection of Trumpism -- all the more important and noteworthy. The 43rd president of the United States -- and the last Republican to hold the office before Donald Trump -- didn't mention the 45th president by name in his speech at the George W. Bush Institute. But Trump -- and his views -- were ever-present in the former President's address.
Bush condemned "nationalism distorted into nativism." He derided "discourse degraded by casual cruelty." He acknowledged that "our politics seems more vulnerable to conspiracy theories and outright fabrication." And, most importantly, Bush said that "bigotry seems emboldened."

Well said detective. Bush has exposed himself for who he is. He agrees with the war Obama waged against the American people. With the weaponization of the IRS against the tea party. With the destruction of coal companies, the money laundering with the solar companies, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Obamacare, not destroying ISIS, weakening our military and our rules of engagement, the war on police, open borders, and all the destruction Obama worked against America because Bush never spoke one word against any of that. Not one word for America.

I saw a determination in Trump from the beginning. He has tripped around politicians for years. He saw some for the person they were. Some good, some greedy. He has been asked over the years if he’d consider the presidency. He always said in one way or another, “if I’m needed”. All this time he was busy building, negotiating, doing good things, quietly.
I watched him, read his books. He has a good strong mind. He’s no perfectionist, he’s like the average American. He, like us is full of warts and doesn’t take flim flaming well. He speaks out about it, just like a lot of us do. He loves our country, family, faith, us, our traditions, and doesn’t want them changed to look like Europe and their ways. He like us, likes our traditions, our American way of doing things, I could go on, but better stop. Do not let anyone take away our 2nd Amendment.

I too am disgusted that he would keep his mouth shut for Obama and now this. I knew that he was not a conservative which is why he and Rove had to come up with his “compassionate conservative” angle but I understood and preferred him to McCain by a long shot. Certainly Gore would have been worse and I did have compassion for him after 9/11. But this.... wow.
Trump single handedly defeated the Bush and Clinton Crime Families and administered an epic humiliating beat-down of both the far left and the left-of-center republican establishment. Not to mention forever exposing the so-called “mainstream media” as the propaganda arm of the DNC.
