Tucson tried sending Amazon a 21-foot saguaro cactus (since rejected) to entice the online retailers second headquarters to its city. Stonecrest, Ga., offered to rename itself as the city of Amazon. Boston Globe editors published a four-page special section Sunday listing five wicked cool Beantown sites for a new HQ2.
In California, however, Gov. Jerry Brown is offering tax breaks and other incentives worth hundreds of millions of dollars should Amazon choose the Golden State as the site of its second home.

Amazon makes no bones about wanting public assistance. The company asked applicants to identify incentive programs available at the state, province and local levels, including help with site preparation, tax credits, tax exemptions, grants and fee reductions.
We will just tax the little people more.

Would Amazon want two gigantic headquarters on the west coast? I wouldn’t think so.

How would they cram 50,000 more people into Mountain View?
I looked at the area's housing a few years back. Outrageous house prices, ridiculous rentals and there was a two-year waiting list at all the trailer parks.

I see I'm not the only hopeless gift-giver. Somewhere my soul-mate is
buying something tacky and inappropriate, just to get the hell out of the store.

Why doesn’t Amazon buy Puerto Rico?
To: Will88
The center of the nation is around St Louis.
I hear there are bargain lots in East St Loo.

But the security expenses offset the bargain real estate. I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up in a southeastern state. Business friendly and less expensive than most of the nation.

Or Detroit. Wayne county can be had for about $29.00 and an Ovaltine decoder ring.
Of course, there are a lot of negative externalities. Maybe for a `ground breaking’ Li’l Kim might nuke it.

Like California is so rolling in money. Hey Moonbeam, cancel your “train to nowhere” and you’ll have a lot more cash.

This sure seems to contradict Jerry's claims about man made climate change... For Amazon to be profitable they sure are not going to use cow flatulence collectors, solar tiles and windmills as energy sources, to ship their wares.

Kim should nuke Detroit?
Waste of a bomb -- nobody would notice.

Right. Nothing would make me more heartbroken than Amazon turning red state into a blue one.
