RNC Breaks Fundraising Record, ‘Fueled by Grassroots Enthusiasm’
Washington Free Beacon ^ | 10/18/17 | Charles Russell

Posted on 10/18/2017 4:47:51 PM PDT by markomalley

The Republican National Committee broke a fundraising record and raised more than $100 million during the first nine months of 2017, fueled by small-dollar donors at the center of a grassroots movement.

In a statement released by RNC Chairman Ronna McDaniel, the "record-breaking fundraising has been fueled by grassroots enthusiasm for President Trump and the Republican Party," McClatchy reported.

The accomplishment marked the first time the RNC raised that amount, that fast, in a non-presidential election year. September's $10.4 million give the RNC $44.1 million in the bank with a total of $104.4 million raised this year.

Across the aisle, the Democratic National Committee had raised $46.3 million by the end of August with $6.8 million cash on hand. The DNC had not released September's fundraising numbers prior to the Friday deadline for Federal Election Commission filings.

Of the RNC's direct contributions this year, almost 60 percent – more than $44 million of the $75 million in total – have come from small donations. Overall, over 98 percent of those who gave were small donors, those who donated less than $200.

The RNC is putting the donations to work in districts and specific campaigns across the country. In a continued effort to expand the Republican majority in Congress, the RNC hired 17 state directors last month, in key states including Arizona, Missouri, and Pennsylvania, resulting in the organization's most expansive field program in its history. The donations have also supported GOP candidates in key gubernatorial races, and will help the party get ready for the 2020 presidential race.

"This month’s numbers show once again that Americans of all backgrounds approve of the direction our country is headed under Republican leadership," RNC Finance Chairman Steve Wynn said in a statement. "We are grateful to our generous donors who allow us to continue to expand our Republican majorities."

Now that the RNC is flush with cash, they’ll undoubtably pour millions into the only US Senate Race this year to support the Republican candidate Roy Moore against his ‘RAT opponent.

Right?

This is a mixed bag of news for me.

On one hand I'm glad to see the money rolling in and I think it's because of President Trump. But on the other hand I don't want to see the money earned by hard working loyal Americans going to the likes of turn coat never Trumpers who are holding us back from making America great again.

“This is a mixed bag of news for me.”

I have to agree. This money will only flow to RINO’s or establishment types. People like Roy Moore will only see a token amount at best.

Mistakenly believing the RNC cares a whit about President Trump!
They'd rather help the DNC

The RNC's turnout operation in last year's elections was second to none. They did an extraordinary job and outworked the DNC. It is why President Trump gave Priebus the Chief of Staff job (a job he turned out to be quite ill suited for). And when there is an incumbent President, the President appoints the RNC leadership - which is of course exactly what has occurred now. The current RNC leadership was appointed by President Trump himself. His chosen people are in charge of it.

Do you all making these kinds of comments really not know this? Come on!

It’s as weird as Sarah Huckabee, whose dad I’ve always regretted as much as Mittens, but Sarah is also the cat’s ass, much to my surprise.

NEVER EVER EVER GIVE to the RNC. Always give to the candidate of your choice.

They don’t get a dime from me. I used to be a reliable supporter, so I keep getting lots of RNC solicitations. I send them all back with this statement : When you start supporting our president, I’ll start supporting you. Until then, I will send my money to specific conservative candidates.

That link is about the NRCC vs. DSCC, not RNC vs. DNC. The full article linked here indicates the DNC has very little cash on hand.

You do know that the RNC fully supported President Trump in the general election last year, and the current RNC leadership was appointed by President Trump himself, right?

I remember when the RNC put up this “online survey” (which was nothing more than a gimmick to ultimately get people to the donations page) and I saw my liberal friends posting the link to it “tell them exactly what you think of Trump!” - so they were unwittingly sharing and helping make that link go viral and advertising their fundraising operations - it was quite amusing.

RNC sent me an email yesterday to ask for donations.

I replied that if they took positive action to help elect Roy Moore, I would start to donate again (haven't since Bush and now I go directly to people/campaigns)...

Anyone seen any signs the RNC is helping Moore in a substantial way?
