Talk of ‘No Deal’ Brexit Rises as Divorce Negotiations Stall

LONDON (AP) — As Brexit negotiations between Britain and the European Union stutter and stall, one question looms larger and larger: What if there is no deal? It’s an increasingly plausible prospect that stirs fear in many U.K. politicians and businesses — and hope in the hearts of staunch Brexit supporters.

Divorce talks between Britain and the European Union have limped through five rounds without a breakthrough, and Britain is due to leave the EU in less than 18 months, on March 29, 2019. When it does, thousands of laws, agreements and regulations covering everything from trade to crime-fighting to aviation will cease to apply. Unless new arrangements are in place, the U.K. will crash out of the EU single market and trade with the bloc on World Trade Organization terms, which would mean tariffs on goods and uncertainty for services.

The OECD economic think-tank forecast this week that switching to WTO rules would cut U.K. growth by 1.5 percentage points in the first year, push down the already-devalued pound, deter investment and trigger a downgrade to Britain’s credit rating.

The EU dosn’t want a free trade deal, they want to scare us into paying them for decades.
There was never any prior agreement to pay for leaving, this bill is something they have invented because they cannot afford the loss of our money.

If they won’t negotiate, then we should walk away now, and stop wasting time. They will be far worse off than us, and many regions of Europe would be hit by trade tariffs.

The establishment doesn’t like what the voters of Britain voted for.

No deal- just sever the ties and deal with the chips as they fall wherever they may. It will go smoother than anyone now predicts as Europe readjusts so as not to lose all sorts of benefits of friendship with Britain.

And why do our politicians care one way or the other? Money! I believe most are on the take. Especially those who have been there for a long time. That’s why they were against Trump. And that’s why they say “He doesn’t know how things are done in DC.” But he told them he knows exactly what’s going on.

I believe the guy who wants to testify before Congress about who he bribed on the Russian uranium deal will say those who accepted money were from both parties. And that’s why Sessions won’t rescind the FBI’s Do Not Disclose agreement .

Who gets custody of the millions of unwanted immigrants? Are the Brits going to be paying child support forever?

I agree, but the politicians will always hesitate.

The EU is like a nutty ex wife. Sometimes you just gotta walk and bravely face the future.

“thousands of laws, agreements and regulations covering everything from trade to crime-fighting to aviation will cease to apply”

It was all these laws, agreements and regulations that sent the UK voters to vote for Brexit. What is there to negotiate? Scotland Yard can’t investigate crime? London-Heathrow can’t land planes?

i think it is fairly apparent that the USA will come to the UK’s aid just like in 1940 during the U-boat blockade.

Trump will be the USA point guy.

USA MSM will attack Trump and ally itself with EU (Germany, Brussels, France, whoever).

This will be a big fustercluck for the EU. It will be a replay of the downfall of the NFL, but on an international government scale.

Popcorn time!

(To the EU Anthem, better known as Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy”)

Lyrics by: Lt. Col. Tom Kratman, US Army, Retired

Fuck the European Union!
Fuck the Hague and ICC!
Fuck their rules and regulations;
Fuck the whole bureaucracy!

Asshats, Bastards, Cowards, Dimwits,
Excrement-Feeding, Gallows-bait.
Hang the swine Higher than Haman,
Ignorant Jackasses, Knaves.

Watch them purge the bent banana.
See your taxes rise and rise.
See your nations fall to ruin.
Watch as every freedom dies.

Lick-ass Morons, Nincompoops, Oh,
Pity the Quagmire these Reds made.
Sycophants and Thieves, the whole crew,
Underworked and overpaid.

Friday Mornings EUnuchs sign in
To ensure their holidays
Are paid for by lesser beings.
Others call those people, “slaves.”

To the lampposts, Europeans.
Tie the knots and toss the ropes.
Fit the nooses, haul the free ends
Stand back; let the bastards choke. . . .
