“Crap school, no great academic reputation, and I always avoided hiring any graduate.”

CU?

When I graduated in 1977 it was still reputable, even if not considered an academic powerhouse. It was certainly better than Hawaii at Manoa.

I would not be surprised if it was a better school in the 1970’s...my association with it was in the late 1980’s when the forestry courses were teaching how to spike trees in a way to cause the most damage to a saw. Nice!

I was trying to hire recent graduate geologists for a large exploration project I was managing, and the kids I interviewed just did not have the education, or spark I was looking for.

I ended up with a couple of great kids from Montana Tech-Butte.
