“Big business. Hire a fall guy.”

Anything is possible.
But I read more than one source that people were seen running back to a car after starting a fire in the areas.
And it could be some power lines did blow down in the very strong winds and the arsonist both caused some fires.

It is pretty convenient for PG&E. This homeless guy who lived under a bridge may have started the one fire they found him close to but it’s doubtful he started any others. Unless he’s one heck of a hiker.

Global warming caused the man to light these fires when he otherwise would not have done so.

Winds were in the middle 60’s. Maybe a tree blowing over taking out the lines but the lines themselves can easily handle higher than that.
