Market doomsayer Marc "Dr. Doom" Faber has launched a racially charged diatribe in his latest newsletter, alleging that the U.S. is great primarily because it is ruled by white people.
The eccentric Gloom, Boom & Doom report author, who often speaks on CNBC and other financial media, generally forecasting some type of market downturn, focused his latest comments on the racial conflicts happening around the country.
(A CNBC spokesperson said it will not book him in the future.)
"And thank God white people populated America, and not the blacks. Otherwise, the US would look like Zimbabwe, which it might look like one day anyway, but at least America enjoyed 200 years in the economic and political sun under a white majority," he wrote.
"I am not a racist, but the reality — no matter how politically incorrect — needs to be spelled out."
Reached for comment via email, Faber did not back away from his statements to CNBC.
"If stating some historical facts makes me a racist, then I suppose that I am a racist. For years, Japanese were condemned because they denied the Nanking massacre," he told CNBC in an email.

No one with the vision to dredge a harbor? No one with the testicles to invade Egypt or Libya and take over their resources?
To the British Isles? To the Mediterranean? To Iceland, Greenland or North America?
So stating facts is now racist?
Is he advocating causing harm to blacks? No. Is he advocating depriving blacks of rights? No. He is just making an observation.

They didn’t dock; they anchored offshore, and if the weather blew up, they had to run.

Don’t put too much stress on that word. Sowell might not have used it. (I commented from memory.) Trade is restricted if there are no ports deep enough for ships to moor pierside.

Sowell always makes sense, so if there is fault, it must be mine. The book is excellent, though.

Conquests & Conquerors - I highly recommend it.
But the excuse is lame I have to admit regarding lack of ports. He did expound on river navigation though and the fact that all of the major rivers in Africa and their tributaries have massive waterfalls/cascades or drops. So river navigation is out.
Again, use the Mongol example. They invaded and conquered via horseback & foot an empire that was bigger than even the Romans, Greeks or British could muster.
A fjord is a place to build and shelter ships. Lots of good lumber, too.
Actually, this is the stereotype and I have bought into it, but not totally. I think Europeans and Russia have as good athletes as blacks do. A lot of the current domination is the result of socialism in Europe and discrimination in sports of America. White boys don’t get the chance or the coaching after a certain level is reached.

For most of history, there’s been nothing to conquer in Africa except mud huts and crocodiles.

It’s a media-driven lie and stereotype as you point out.
Asians thrive at sports too, but unfortunately most modern sports require a huge physique to succeed. Not all of them though.
For most team sports you need extremely good chemistry, good symmetry, and a committed strategic philosophy where the individuals will willingly yield to each other for the purpose advancing that strategy.
There are certain sports (not American Football where brute strength wins the day) where this must be done or you lose.
