Please just stop with posting stuff like that about the Forrestal fire. It makes us look like idiots that we even give it credence.
There are plenty of real things to pin on McCain and the Forrestal fire is not one of them. Treating account as factual makes it easy for McCain’s allies to dismiss us.
Let’s stick with facts, there are plenty of those.
He certainly did not start the fire (an errant missile did), but when he dropped his bombs into the flames in a panic it made things much worse.
This looks like the most well researched article on the incident. The take away is that McCain was inaccurate in his statements.
