I guess when you’re a senator or congressman, your entire health history becomes public information.
I don’t think we had ‘the need to know’ about his UTI.

I think that privacy relating to heath matters should GO OUT THE DOOR when one runs for public office (unless it can be certified that the condition is not a future threat). For example, many here would like to know just WHAT THE HELL is wrong with Hillary, and I’m sure people would have appreciated knowing just how sick FDR was during his last term (when he died). Not to mention the REAL STORY regarding Justice Scalia...in his case, he family wanted a quick cremation after a suspicious death, even though the guy doing the ‘autopsy’ had his license pulled. I could care less regarding the family’s wishes, if a person is in such a powerful position as to be able to CHANGE THE DIRECTION of this country, then we need to make informed decisions regarding that person. Think about it just on a local level - if my wife is found murdered in my home and I have blood on my hands, will the police let me hire some disgraced quack for a 10 minute autopsy and then let me cremate her the next day?

If people don’t like public disclosure, they always have the option of not running or taking office, or resigning.
