UTIs, especially in older people, can affect the mind, balance, etc. Often they don’t present with symptoms typical to “normal” UTIs. Very dangerous, in many ways.

People with dementia and incontinence often get these. Even if you get enough water into them, their systems don’t always fully empty, they are sitting in a wet diaper before it’s realized, and theyir immune systems are in bad shape. And so their dementia gets worse due to all the undx’ed utis.
