Pope Francis implicitly criticized the United States on Monday for pulling out of the Paris agreement on climate change, praising it as a means to control the devastating effects of global warming.
The U.S. is the only country out of 195 signatories to have withdrawn from the accord, which aims to cut emissions blamed for the rise in temperatures.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced the decision in June shortly after visiting the pope, a strong supporter of the deal. At the time a Vatican official said the move was a “slap in the face” for the pope and the Vatican.

What does the Vatican know about the science of climate change? Are they simply jumping on the bandwagon of socialists who have declared that mankind is responsible for global warming?
There is no valid scientific evidence that mankind is causing climate change. We are on the cusp of global cooling. Is mankind responsible for that?
Why is the Vatican saying that mankind is no good? That does not seem to be consistent with Catholic theology that says mankind is good.
This 74 year old Catholic will continue to attend Mass each week, practice my faith as best I can but ignore just about every word spoken by this dysfunctional left wing Argentinian Jesuit blow hard. Is there no relief from the nonsense this egotistical man continually spouts?

This criticism is old news, rehashed at a UN conference. If the Pope were ever to repeat praise of President Trump, Reuters wouldn’t cover it.
