A while back, someone spray-painted a swastika on a trash cart at the University of Maryland. As with so many other similar situations lately, students got extremely upset and the school did its best to respond.
Also, as with so many other similar situations lately, it appears we have yet another faked hate crime.
From The College Fix:
You wouldnt know it by reading news from the University of Maryland or its student newspaper, but the suspect charged in connection with a spray-painted swastika on campus is African-American.
...
So maybe thats why currently only one news outlet notes swastika suspect Alford is black:
Court records show the man accused of spray-painting a swastika inside a residence hall at the University of Maryland in September is African American.
Students were surprised to learn someone who is a member of a race which has been historically oppressed is accused of the hate-related incident.
I guess it proves that you dont have to be a certain race to hate people, but I mean, its just you would think that someone, especially from a race that has been subjected to hate before, you would think why would you want to reciprocate that to somebody else, said student Abby Gorun.
This has been quite the phenomenon since the election of Donald Trump.
There's been an intense desire among some on the Left to prove that racists are coming out of the woodwork -- but without any evidence, they need to manufacture the hate themselves. Now many people assume each new incident is a fraud, for good reason. Remarkably few ever turn out to be actual hate crimes.
Yes, fakes happen on the right, too. We fall for it as well.
Here's the thing to remember here. Every fake hate crime makes it much more difficult to believe the next. The next guy who claims he got stabbed by Antifa while not at a protest, and the next woman who claims a hijab was snatched off her head? I'm not going to buy it without proof.
It's not a shocking revelation that this was allegedly done by a black person, and it's a less shocking revelation that his race wasn't being reported.
This is simply politics in the 21st century.
bkmk
Cry wolf enough times and folks won’t even bat an eye anymore over “hate crimes”.
“Fake” hate crime? Blacks can’t be NAZIs?
This is not a fake hate crime. It’s a real hate crime, against the group the perp is trying to make look bad.

Not sure that painting a swastika on a trash can is much of a crime, much less a hate crime. It's not the same as painting in on a Synagogue. Or a tombstone.
Which brings me to my question. If the authorities are looking at this as a hate crime, why is there no mention in the article, comments at the article site, or even here that a swastika isn't an anti-black symbol. Anti American, sure, but it's generally used with antisemitic intent. Blacks in America having the highest level of antisemitism amongst racial/ethnic group for decades, maybe it is an act of "hate".
But as the article seems to imply, minorities can't hate. Absurd.
Probably enough time spent on what was probably garbage can vandalism
Of the handful of truly antisemitic events I’ve experienced in the USA, they’ve been almost universally at the hands of blacks or middle easterners.
The specific one that grates occurred when I was pumping gas to fill a rental car near Hobby Airport in Houston.
3 blacks drove by, screamed “die you F-—g Jooo” and chunk a full 7-11 Slurpee at me), ruining my clothes and making for an extremely unpleasant flight.
Stranger things:
Where is the proof, where is the source...if there is a picture of this AA-man, please show it.
Until then...........
Having been the recipient of one of these, likely by a leftist, I question your assertion that 99% are fake
I mean of course they occur, but are done not by so-called neo-nazis, but rather, leftist agitators and attention seekers.
