Remember King David. God forgave him his adultery and other sins, but he and the people of Israel suffered the consequences - continued wars and suffering.
There are consequences of our actions. Why not be wise and do the righteous thing?
The bible says there will be wars and poverty anyway and nothing we can do to stop it, so staying celibate won’t have an effect
