A number of officials at East High School in Denver came under fire in August when a disturbing video circulated showing cheerleaders repeatedly being pushed into splits.
An incoming high school freshman screamed in pain and asked the coach, Ozell Williams, to please stop in one video. Her morther said she suffered injuries to her leg from the forced exercise.
The leaked video caused a public uproar. The schools principal retired and the athletic director resigned after the video was leaked; Williams was fired.
Denver Public Schools Superintendent Tom Boasberg thanked the DAs office for investigating the case, but asked the media to stop sharing the videos of the controversial cheer practice, the Denver Post reported.
Our top priority has been, and will continue to be, the safety and well-being of our students, Boasberg said. In support of this, and to allow our students to continue healing, we would ask news media to refrain from showing videos of the forced splits in covering this issue.

No words.
Savage.
White girl scream a lot.
There are words, but I would get banned.
I’m sorry please stop doesn’t cut it. She should have used the safe word.
I could still do the splits when I was thirty.
Back in those pre-internet days.
She deserved the pain, she’s white. /Extreme sarcasm.
The descent into lawlessness is/will be swift...
Good call. He was innocent. No pain. No gain.
Can anyone imagine a white coach not charged with a crime for this sort of thing.
And what the hell is this talk of not showing the video, as if that is the real crime here?
You know folks, this stuff is getting whacked out beyond what the public should put up with.
There’s simply no justice going the other way.
What’s stopping a civil suit? Looks like a good candidate for one.
No blood. No foul. He was railroaded. Trumped up charges.
White girl scream a lot.

I hope the family moved and sues
She suffered torn muscle tissue. That's assault and battery causing physical harm. Coach should be jailed, and certainly sued for damages, both physical and emotionally.
Why would the family move? And sue for a pulled muscle? A coach, overstretched an athletic kid. That’s all that happened isn’t it?
Bullcrap. A coach pushing a kid in training and them getting a pulled muscle isn’t assault and battery. Are you kidding?
Half the football coaches in America would be locked up for pushing boys much harder. This is all drama because a snowflake screamed and looked upset. So of course, a man should be arrested.
My first and last ballet teacher did that to me when I was very young. I never went to another class. That was over 60 years ago. There is nothing new under the sun.
