I seem to recall seeing a statistic a while back that the USA white violent crime (not homicide) rate was 9.3 per 100,000 and the USA black violent crime rate was something like 42 per 100,000.

In the most recent reporting year, South Korea had a homicide rate of 0.9 per 100,00 and Japan was 0.3 per 100,000. Contrast that with the US homicide rate of 4.8 per 100,000.
