What a shame. I’ve enjoyed his movies. What an extreme boorish vulgar oaf.

Movies that glorified mobsters, thugs, and hoods, even when he occassionally played the “good guy.”

I have seen much better actors than De Niro and much better movies than any of his. Day of the Jackal, North by Northwest, Roman Holiday, French Connection, Von Ryan’s Express, Bullit, To catch a Thief, Goldfinger, etc are all amazing, and De Niro was in none of them.

Keep in mind that the actors don't write the scripts, and that those memorable lines we all remember were written by the screenwriters, probably the most underpaid people in the movie industry. And De Niro and all these other stars seem just fine with that.

That’s how I feel, too. His later movies have been duds, but lots of good ones. Unfortunately, he’s a leftist moron.
