If their contract’s coming up for renewal, put together a list of what you hate about them, gather up a few friends who agree, and go to the City Council meeting on the night the renewal is being heard. Ask to be heard when the item is called. Those are always pro-forma items because nobody ever shows up to protest, the shock of a group of locals threatening to derail their gravy train will definitely rattle their cage and may get some improvement.
A lot of this crap goes on because nobody complains to the people who actually have the power to fix it. A lawyer friend spent six months trying to get a Cox affiliate to stop sending bills to her deceased client. Dozens of phone calls, visits, Certified letters on attorney letterhead, nothing worked. They kept billing her, then started sending dunning letters. Finally, the lawyer discovered our city’s cable compliance officer. Two five minute phone calls, one to the city, one about fifteen minutes FROM Cox who were oh-so-sorry.
Interesting, thanks!
